Character Design + Turn 2D + Turn 3D wiiiiiiiiiiiiii
C'est finiiii!
That's the end of another exercise...it took us 5 weeks. 2 for character design, 1 just for the turn around and the last 2 weeks with the rest of the turn around/shadows/z brush modeling.
It was cool, a lot of things to learn :)
i've done turn arounds before, but not animated...and that changes everything. It's really easy to notice when things don't work and even minor mistakes get reaaaally big.
It was also the first time I worked with zbrush. It's awesome, but I still feel kind of limited. It will be better next time :)

JUCA
This was my last freelance job back in Brazil... these are trophies from an university championship called JUCA :)
the small ones were the trophies from 2013 and the big one is a trophy they are gonna pass to each year's winner. It was made to last 40 years, let's see how this works! Each small plaque at the base tells about a different winner - when I made the statue the championship already had 20 winners from previous years.
I worked with oil clay and then made resin copies that were painted with acrylic or automotive paint.

Evil panda!
A new project I'm working on with Thiago Vidotto. It looks a lot different now, it's not that cartoony anymore...
Concepts for the 2d Animation Exercises
The title says pretty much everything! These are some of the drawings that I did for my 2d animation exercises...they weren't part of the exercises. but I felt more comfortable making some studies before actually animating everything.
Paris Games Week
Yesterday I went with Vidotto (you can check his site here: http://www.tvidotto.com/ ) to watch the finals of Dota2. This is a drawing I made during one of the matches, when Sigma Int. was playing.

And back to pastel!
Two posts today, that's awesome!
So, today I got back to some tradition techniques and light studies. This one was from a photograph that I had in my reference folder... there are actually a lot more details that I should have added, but I started w/ a drawing too small..I'll make a bigger one next time.
And yes, that's me in the picture! :)

Back to gouache
I guess I chose a hard reference, I'm not totally happy with it...but that's ok, it's just the first one, I won't be too harsh on myself.

Gouache
These were made in July, part of gouache classes at Quanta Academia (São Paulo) with Davi Calil. I'm not used to working with paint, I usually paint digitally...definitely sth that I have to keep working on!!

Préliminaires d'Animation 3D
And now the first 3D exercises! It was my first time using Maya (or any 3D animation software whatsoever), so I learned a lot with them. I guess it will be much easier next time! :)
