Annecy

And it's finally over!
I worked on this project from February until June with Michiru Baudet, Cécile Carre, Fanou Lefebvre and Léni Marotte. It was a great learning experience but I'm also glad it's over and I can move on to some new stuff.

Soup'cière!

On a moonless evenin'
The wind is blowin'
An odd soup is bubblin
And a mysterious lady is grinnin'
....
Soup'cière!
This is a team project made in one month for a school exercise. We were five on it :
- Cécile Carre ( carrececile.tumblr.com / carrececile.blogspot.fr )
- Céline Desoutter ( clndt.tumblr.com / cdesoutterportfolio2015.blogspot.fr )
- Élena Dupressoir ( elenadupressoir.tumblr.com )
- Viviane Guimarães ( vivianevguimaraes.blogspot.com / vivianevguimaraes.tumblr.com )
- Ines Scheiber ( tres-laranjinhas.blogspot.fr )
Music by Ricardo Ranzani ( soundcloud.com/ricardo-ranzani )

Finally! I worked mostly on the character animation (the cat, the hands preparing the soup and the children on the last scene), but I’ve learned a lot from the whole process.

It was great to work on it! Hope you like it :)

Les Matelots - Animation Cycle

Les Matelots - Animation test from Viviane Guimaraes on Vimeo.

This is an animation test that I did during my internship at La Cachette for the short movie Les Matelots. The character was designed by Julien Chheng, and since this is just a test, this is not the final design or rendering of the character/movie. It was really nice animating it though :)

Lip Sync!

Yayy finally! I finished this one last week but I wanted to scan the images, here they are now. And some images are not so good, we can't see every detail...too bad :/
I don't think I'm ever doing clean up on paper again... it's so much easier to do it digitally. I do prefer to do the rough animation on paper, though!

It goes without saying that the characters are Mushu and Cri-Kee from Mulan, so they belong to Disney.
The sound is an excerpt from Pulp Fiction.

Les Écoliers

Some character design that I was doing for a really short animation sequence, based on different walks and personalities. I probably won't make the sequence, I did the rough animation and I learned a lot with it...but I want to do other stuff than walks :)

2D Walk - Chel

I posted this one with the 3D background but not by itself!

And the videos with the same animation:

3d Walk - Correction!

I had some spare time so I corrected the 3D walk (it was really bothering me).

Animal Walk

I finished this one yesterday! It took me 2 weeks (anatomy study, video reference, rough animation, clean up and color). I've chosen a black jaguar (Panthera onca) because of the weight and the movement of the shoulder blades. It's such an astonishing animal, it was great learning more about it.

2D/3D Walk - 3D Background!

Hey, it's been kind of hard to keep this blog updated :)
I'm doing a lot of work at the moment, and I'm managing to keep my stuff pretty organized, but for some reason the blog isn't part of it.

Sooo there it goes:

This was an exercise we did at Gobelins of a 2D and a 3D walk inserted on a 3d background.
It took us 2 weeks for the 2D walk, 1 for the 3D and 2 weeks for background and rendering. This background was made by me and Nicolas CapitaineLucas DurkheimInes Scheiber and Diane Tran-Duc

Walk Cycle 3D

Finally! The first 3d walk cycle of Gobelins. There are a looot of things to change there, but one of the things I'm learning at Gobelins is how to let go! Ok, this one isn't perfect, the next one will be better. Moving on! :)
I also did a 2d walk, but I'm still working on the colors and inbetweens so it'll take a while.

Hope you guys like this one!

Demo reel!

I'll begin looking for some internships so I already finished my demo reel and portfolio. For the moment I'll just send the demo reel, I'll post the portfolio later this week. Hope you like it! :)

2D Animation

Hey! The first "complete" animation :)
We started this one with a list of actions to accomplish in 3 shots and 10 seconds...I went over 10, but that's ok.
We did the storyboard, animatic, layout and 2d animation (keys, clean up, inbetweens).
Disney has the rights to the character, it's the squirrel from Sleeping Beauty.

Rough animation

I forgot to post this!
These were some exercises that I did at Gobelins...some rough animation to study movement, keys, weight, body mechanics and a little bit of acting, why not? :)

Les préliminaires d'animation!
3 weeks of work, the first animation exercises.
